my missionary

Christmas countdown: Five days.  Skyping and a phone call from my most very favorite missionary: Five days.

Last week Sadie sent us this pic.
How I love these Sister missionaries.  How I love their hearts, and their enthusiasm, and courage.  How I love that they've put their lives on hold to help someone else find joy in theirs. How I love their smiles and their tenacity and their creativity ( don't have a fireplace? then break out the construction paper and make one).  But more than anything, I love their powerful testimonies of our Heavenly Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.  This is what Sadie shared in her last email…

"OK so I really just wanted to say that I checked off something off my bucket list last night- We had a fireside at the Spring Stake Center- it was HUGE! So the last song the choir sang was, of course, the Halluejuah chorus. Oh. My. Goodness. So they invited anyone who wanted to sing to come up, and so Christina (our recent convert) and I went up, and we sang our  hearts out, it filled the whole church with a powerful message: "And He shall reign forever and ever, King of the Kings, and Lord of the Lords, forever, and ever." I felt the Spirit so strong as it bore witness to me that this is true! He reigns above all and He loves and watches over us. There is nothing more powerful than Him.
My testimony is this- I know that the Savior lives and that He died for each of us. He knows our trials, and our heartaches, and He came to this Earth, born as a little baby, and He grew to understand each of us and what we experience. Mortality is not easy. But we all agreed to come down here, so that we could gain experience, and eventually return to our Father in Heaven. I came on a mission to gain experience, and I will come back to y'all here soon. But my mission doesn't end there! I will forever be seeking out God's children, to let each and every person know that they are loved, and they are special, and they are worth more than they can ever comprehend... Most of all- I know that He lives! I know Jesus Christ lives today, and He will never forsake us. I have been broken, I have been tested to my limits, but so was He. He descended below all. As to quote one of our members, " I don't know how He did it, but I will forever be grateful."

Happy Sunday dear readers.
