another week passes

Last Saturday, something amazing happened.  Gentry asked Sierra if she would draw with her, and Sierra said, "yes".  When these two were younger, they were the best of friends and sometimes, the worst of enemies.  But, mostly, the best of friends.

Now that Sierra has entered the much cooler teenage years, she's left behind some of the activities she and Gentry used to love to do together, like drawing. So I had to take a few photos of this next scene.  It was a very happy, argue-free afternoon, and I loved it.  I was even more surprised when Sierra said, "Go get your ukulele Gentry and we can do a song together."  Talk about Kum Ba Yah!  Happy mom moment.

My "man-child" as I jokingly like to call him celebrated yet another birthday (because no one around here is listening when I tell them to stop growing-up).

We spent the day with our family, and felt grateful for the privilege.  The older I get, the more I appreciate my family.

Today it's Saturday again.  I am already playing Christmas music and Sadie comes home on Monday for a whole week.  Looking forward to more family time, pumpkin pie, and celebrating our Savior's birth.  I really do feel like this is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.
